Concord is home to a huge variety of restaurants; from eating out to dining in, this city has it all. There are the popular chains perfect for large families looking for well-sized portions; Claim Jumper, Fuddruckers, Old Spaghetti Factory, and BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse. These restaurants tend to be popular with big groups or families, most noticeably for special occasions such as birthdays or celebrations. While Concord hosts a diverse set of cuisines, one factor we noticed was that the number of Mexican restaurants far succeeded that of any other type of culture. With over 51 different locations, this city caters to the population around it which is largely hispanic and latino.
While restaurants, both family style and sit down, are common in this area, Concord also boasts a high number of fast food locations. There are over 5 Taco Bells, 2 KFC's and 9 Subways found within the 94520 area code. Again, this demonstrates that the area caters to a specific market, one that may be comprised of families who do not have either the money or the time to spend preparing family meals most days. Located around Santos Todos Square are a wide variety of different cuisines; from Thai to Korean BBQ this city is successful in spreading and maintaining an array of cultures.
While at the Queen of All Saints event on Sunday we found ourselves surrounded by many vendors, each selling food from their culture. Italy was spotted across the park selling plates of pasta and bread
