This blog was created by three Saint Mary's graduate students looking to broaden their understanding of a particular community around them.  Choosing Mt. Diablo High School as their focal point, they researched the surrounding area of Concord, California in a variety of aspects as well as reaching out to community members in an effort to further their understanding of the people and their lives.  Rather than relying on outside sources they jumped headfirst into the area by interviewing community members and taking note of surrounding food and businesses, health practices, education performance, and local history.  By doing these things they hope to examine the stigma that perhaps surrounds the Bay Area city and question not only why outsiders have this stereotyped view but what Concord-ians themselves think of this perception.

All pictures were taken by the three group members and any statistics and factual information can be found on listed links or the Concord official website.
